How does teen court work?
Teen Court is run by youth and adult volunteers. Student volunteers take the roles of clerks, bailiffs, attorneys and jurors. District and Superior Judges and Attorneys serve as Teen Court Judges. Teen Court is a "hands on" opportunity for offenders and volunteers to learn about the legal system. It is a vehicle for positive peer pressure. Offenders have to complete their sanctions within 90 days from the night of their hearing.
When and Where?
Granville County Teen Court is held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm at the Granville County Courthouse unless otherwise indicated on the calendar.
