August 2021

This summer we've been doing a lot of community engagement and volunteer recruitment! Check out what we've been up to! 
  • Drug-Free Coalition "Overdose Awareness Community Event" - We set up a table and passed out information about our program and ways for youth to get involved. (Oxford, NC)
  • Back-to-School Giveaway- A group of churches in the county held a Back-to-School Giveaway for parents and youth. Giving away free school supplies and clothes. We were able to set up a table and engage with many member of the Southern Granville community. (Creedmoor, NC)
  • Summer Bridge @ J.F. Webb- We attended student orientation and J.F. Webb High School to hold a brief workshop with first and second year students. (Oxford, NC)
  • New Volunteer Training- On the last day of the month, we held our first volunteer training of the 2021-2022 school year!

July 2021

It's official...WE'RE BACK! Teen Court is preparing to start back for the 2021-2022 School Year! We are seeking new and returning volunteers. Be on the lookout for upcoming trainings and events! 
  • July 10th- We'll be at  "That Youth Thing" event hosted by Delrayno Baptist Church (Oxford). Come learn more about our program and volunteer opportunities. 
  • July 24th- NC Cooperative Extension will be at the Granville County 275th Celebration. Come learn more about our program!  
  • July 31st- We will be at a "Feed the Block- Kids Version" event in Oxford.

All Teen Court related activities have been postponed/cancelled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic! We look forward to resuming programming once it is safe to do so!

January 2020

​2020 NC Teen Court Summit
Youth and adult volunteers have begun preparing for the 2020 NC Teen Court Summit. This is an annual event where Teen Court programs across the state compete in a mock-trial style competition. Granville County Teen Court won first place overall in the 2018 Teen Court Summit Mock Trial Competition.

Though it seems like yesterday, 10 years have passed since the start of Granville County Teen Court!

 It is because of  YOU….. the volunteers, the parents and the community supporters, that the program has been successful in giving Granville County youth a second chance. Join us for our Ten Year Anniversary and Volunteer Appreciation!
