our Volunteers
Volunteers are essential to the work that we do. The volunteer roles vary by program, however there is a lot of flexibility. Our volunteers bring a variety of skill and experience to the program that allows us to have a positive impact on the youth in our programs. All volunteers must complete a program application, attend training and sign confidentiality waivers before beginning their volunteer service.
Students
Granville County Middle or High School (public, private, charter and home school) students (6th-12th grade) are eligible to volunteer. There are no academic requirements, however you must have positive behavior and abide by program policies and procedures.

To ensure we have a quality program, we must provide the tools necessary for our volunteers to perform their duties through new volunteer orientation and training. In these training volunteers will gain an understanding of:
  • the purpose and mission of each program.
  • the importance of your role as a volunteer and how to perform that role.
  • the program process, code of conduct, program expectations and terminology.
  • all roles and additional training and/or responsibilities that are required.
  • the day of duties for each program/role.
